Let’s go chase some of Bali's absolute best wateralls!
If you're looking to swap the coastal heat for misty mountain air and roaring jungle falls, you've just found your perfect day out. We are bypassing the usual tourist hotspots and heading straight up into the deep, lush valleys of Bedugul and Munduk. This is where Bali gets wild, green, and incredibly refreshing.
The Waterfall Triple-Threat
We’ll start our adventure rolling deep into Munduk to check out the iconic Munduk Waterfall early in the morning while everything is still quiet. It’s tucked away in a lush valley surrounded by clove and coffee trees, and the sheer power of it is amazing. Next, we hit the crowd-favorite: Banyumala Twin Waterfall. Walking down into this hidden valley feels like stepping into a secret garden, and yes—you can absolutely jump into that massive, crystal-clear natural pool for a swim! To round out our waterfall hunt, we'll head over to Banyu Wana Amertha. This one is a total hidden treasure with multiple separate streams cascading down rock walls draped in thick, vibrant moss.
Winding Down in the Cool Highlands
After all that trekking and swimming, we’ll take a peaceful turn and wrap up our day at the Bali Botanical Garden. Located high up in the Bedugul caldera, this place is massive and wonderfully cool. We’ll take a relaxed, easy walk among giant banyan trees, rare ferns, and peaceful forest paths. It’s the perfect, grounded way to dry off and unwind before we make our way back down the mountain to your hotel.
This is a waterfall-heavy tour, so you will be doing a decent amount of walking! Munduk is a relatively short walk, while Banyumala and Banyu Wana Amertha involve hiking down dirt trails and stone stairs. It is totally doable for anyone with a basic level of fitness, but be prepared for some uphill climbing on the way back to the car.
Banyumala is hands-down the best and safest spot for a proper swim with its large, open pool. Banyu Wana Amertha also has spots where you can splash around and cool off. Munduk Waterfall is incredibly powerful, so people usually just enjoy the mist and snap photos there rather than swimming.
You'll definitely want comfortable shoes with good grip for the trails, swimwear, a quick-dry towel, and a change of clothes. Also, bring a light jacket or hoodie—since we'll be high up in Munduk and Bedugul, the temperature drops significantly compared to the coast.
Because of the steep stairs and slippery jungle paths at the waterfalls, this itinerary might be a bit too exhausting and tricky for toddlers or anyone with knee issues. If you're traveling with family, we can always pace things out and take plenty of breaks!
Rain is quite common in the northern highlands, and honestly, a light drizzle makes the jungle look even more magical! The tour will go ahead in light rain. However, if there is a heavy downpour that makes the waterfall trails muddy or unsafe, our driver will chat with you to safely pivot or adjust the schedule.
