How to Plan Your Bali Trip
Step-by-step guide — read at your own pace
Part 1 — Getting started
Option A — Let Smart Recommendations build your itinerary
Tap the "Smart Recommendations" button. A short questionnaire appears — pick your trip style (Adventure, Culture, Beach, etc.), how many days, your travel date, and optionally an area of Bali. Tap "Auto-Build My Trip" and the planner will instantly fill your days with a tailored itinerary from 100+ destinations.
Tip: You can select multiple trip styles — for example "Adventure + Culture" — and the planner will mix both. Everything can be edited after generation.
Option B — Start manually and build yourself
Tap "Start Planning" to set your trip dates and number of days, then add destinations yourself from the Explore list. Browse by type (Attractions, Activities, or hidden spots), use area chips to filter by region, or type a name in the search box.
You can combine both: Use Smart Recommendations to get a starting point, then manually swap or add destinations you specifically want to visit.
Part 2 — Finding and adding destinations
Open the destination list
On a computer: The destination list is always visible on the left side of the screen — you don't need to do anything to open it.
On a phone: Look at the bottom of the screen. You'll see three buttons: Map, Explore, and My Trip. Tap Explore to open the destination list.
The list contains 100+ places to visit in Bali — temples, rice terraces, beaches, waterfalls, guided tours, and activities like rafting or cycling. Scroll down to see all options.
Tip: Use the filter buttons (All / Attractions / Activities) just below the search box to narrow the list by type of experience.
Search for a specific place
If you already know a place you want to visit — for example "Tanah Lot" or "Tegallalang Rice Terrace" — type its name in the search box at the top of the list. The list will automatically filter to show matching results.
Tap a destination card to read the details
Tap any card in the list to open its full detail page. You'll see photos, a description of the place, the area it's in, entrance fees, opening hours, and any important notes. Read this to decide if it's right for your trip.
Add the destination to a day
Inside the detail page, tap the "Add to Day" button. A small menu will appear showing your days (Day 1, Day 2, etc.). Tap the day you want to visit that place. The destination will be added to your itinerary for that day.
Repeat this for every place you want to visit. Go back to the list (tap "← Back" or close the detail), pick the next destination, and add it to a day.
Part 3 — Organising your days
Switch between days
On a computer: Your days panel is always visible on the right side. Click "Day 1", "Day 2", "Day 3", and so on to switch between days.
On a phone: Tap the My Trip button in the bottom bar. Your itinerary will open — then tap the day tab you want to view.
Good practice: Put places that are close to each other on the same day. For example, group Ubud attractions on one day and Uluwatu/Seminyak on another — they are far apart and doing both in one day will be exhausting.
Change the visit order by dragging
Within a day, you can rearrange your destinations by dragging them. Press and hold a destination card, then drag it up or down to change its position. The order matters — the planner will follow this sequence when calculating travel time and driver cost.
Tip: A logical order for most Bali trips is: morning — waterfalls or rice terraces (cooler), midday — cultural sites (temples), afternoon/evening — beach or sunset spots.
Check your route on the map
On a computer: The map is always open in the center of the screen. Your destinations for the current day are shown as pins on the map automatically.
On a phone: Tap the Map button in the bottom bar. You'll see all your destinations for the current day plotted on the map of Bali.
If two stops look far apart on the map, consider moving one to a different day — it will reduce your travel time and driver cost.
Watch the cost estimate update automatically
As you add destinations to each day, the planner calculates an estimated private driver cost based on the total distance your driver will travel that day. This estimate updates automatically. It is not the final confirmed price — that comes from our team after you request a quote.
Part 4 — Saving and booking
Save your itinerary
When your plan looks good, tap the "Save" button. Your itinerary will be saved and you'll receive a unique link. You can bookmark this link in your browser or share it with friends and family so they can see your plan. You do not need to create an account or pay anything to save.
Request a quote from our Bali team
When you are ready to confirm your trip, tap the "Get a Quote" button. Fill in your name, your email address, and the date you arrive in Bali. Our local team in Bali will review your itinerary personally and reply to your email — usually within a few hours — with a full confirmed price for each activity and your private driver.
Important: You do not pay anything at this stage. You only proceed to payment after you have read the full price breakdown and are happy with it. There is no pressure or obligation.

Frequently Asked Questions — Free Bali Trip Planner
Is the Bali trip planner free to use?
Yes, completely free. You can build, save, and share your itinerary without creating an account. An email is only needed if you want to retrieve your saved trip later or receive a quote confirmation.
How many days can I plan?
You can plan 1 to 14 days. Most Bali trips are 5–10 days, but the planner works just as well for a quick 3-day getaway or an extended two-week stay.
What's included — tours, attractions, or both?
All three. The planner includes Bali attractions (temples, rice terraces, beaches), guided tours (full-day, half-day, sunrise), and standalone activities (rafting, cycling, ATV). You can mix and match anything into a single day.
Can I get a price estimate before booking?
Yes. The planner shows per-activity pricing and calculates an estimated private driver cost based on your day's route. Tap "Get a Quote" to receive a full breakdown with no obligation.
Do I need to book a minimum number of days?
No minimum. You can plan a single day tour or a two-week itinerary — the planner handles both. For multi-day trips, you can mix different areas of Bali across different days.
How quickly will I receive my quote?
Most quotes are sent within a few hours during Bali business hours (8 am – 8 pm WITA). For complex multi-day itineraries, allow up to 24 hours for a full breakdown.
Can I build a free Bali itinerary without signing up?
Yes. You can plan a complete multi-day Bali trip — including routes, attractions, activities, and driver cost — entirely for free, without creating an account. Sign-up is only needed if you want to save your trip to an email address for future retrieval.
How does the private driver cost estimate work?
The planner calculates an estimated daily driver fee based on your vehicle type (Standard, Premium, or Minibus) and the areas you plan to visit. Rates are shown per day — not per stop — so adding more stops to one day doesn't increase the cost. Final rates are confirmed in your quote.
Can I copy someone else's Bali itinerary and personalise it?
Yes. Any public itinerary on BaliTourHub has a "Copy itinerary" button. One click adds it to your own planner where you can rearrange, add, or remove stops freely. It's the fastest way to start planning if you're unsure where to begin.
What's the best way to plan a Bali trip with a private driver in 2026?
Start by choosing your areas (Ubud, Seminyak, Uluwatu, etc.), then build each day's stops using the interactive map. The planner estimates travel time between locations so you can see realistic pacing. Once you're happy with the itinerary, tap "Get a Quote" and a local Bali team will confirm pricing and availability within a few hours.
