Ready to see a completely different side of Bali?
Honestly, if you're getting a bit tired of the usual beach club traffic and want some seriously fresh, cool mountain air, this is the trip you need. We're heading straight up into the highlands of Bedugul and North Bali, where things are way greener, quieter, and—let's be real—way more magical.
Cruising Through the Highland Classics
We’ll kick things off early to beat the rush to Ulun Danu Beratan Temple. It’s that iconic temple that looks like it's literally floating on the lake. When the morning mist rolls in, the vibe is just unmatched. Right next door is the Bali Botanical Garden. We won't make you walk the whole giant park, but we’ll take a massive breath of fresh air among the giant banyan trees and incredible orchid collections. It honestly feels like a giant green paradise.
Chasing the North's Best Hidden Waterfalls
After lunch, we dive deeper north for the real showstoppers. First up is Banyumala Twin Waterfall. It’s a bit of a trek down, but swimming in that crystal-clear natural pool with water cascading down a lush green cliff face? Absolutely worth every step. To wrap up the adventure, we're visiting Banyu Wana Amertha. This one is a total hidden gem—it features multiple separate falls close together, framed by thick jungle. It’s wild, untouched, and the perfect way to end our day before we head back south.
Since we are heading up into the mountains and visiting waterfalls, wear comfortable walking shoes or sandals with good grip. Bring a swimsuit, a change of clothes, and a lightweight jacket or sweater because Bedugul can get surprisingly chilly!
Banyumala and Banyu Wana Amertha require walking down forest stairs and slopes. It’s totally manageable if you have standard fitness levels, but it can be slippery, so just take your time. It’s a bit of a workout coming back up, but you can rest whenever you need.
Yes, absolutely! Both waterfall areas have gorgeous natural pools where you can take a dip. Just note that the mountain water is quite cold and refreshing!
Because of the steep, uneven stairs at the waterfalls, it might be tough for elderly guests or very toddlers. However, the first half of the day (the temple and botanical gardens) is completely flat and very family-friendly.
Showers are quite common in the highlands! The tour still goes ahead if it's just light rain (the misty jungle vibe is actually beautiful). If the weather becomes unsafe or tracks get too muddy, our driver will chat with you to adjust the plan safely.
