Hey There! Ready to Trade the Beach Heat for Cool Mountain Breezes?
If you want to see a completely different side of Bali—one filled with misty lakes, ancient alpine forests, and powerful hidden waterfalls—you are going to love this day trip. We have mapped out a beautiful, scenic route up into the northern highlands. It is the perfect mix of postcard-famous sights and deep jungle exploration, completely tailored to your own pace without any rush.
Your Highland Adventure Itinerary
We start our morning early at the breathtaking Ulun Danu Beratan Temple. Arriving early means you get to see this famous 'floating' temple mirrored on the calm, misty lake before the big crowds arrive. Next, we will take a relaxing stroll through the massive Bali Botanical Garden (Kebun Raya Bedugul). Walking among giant banyan trees and rare orchids up here feels like stepping into a peaceful, green wonderland.
After lunch, we dive into adventure as we head to Banyumala Twin Waterfall. This place is an absolute dream—a lush, green cliffside where crystal-clear spring water pours into a massive natural swimming pool. Don't forget your swimsuit! We finish our epic day trip at the thunderous Munduk Waterfall, surrounded by wild coffee and clove plantations. The misty air here is incredibly fresh, making it the ultimate final stop for jaw-dropping photos before we cruise back down to your hotel.
Why Walk With Us?
We do not do boring, rigid schedules. Because this is a 100% private tour, you are the boss. Want to spend an extra hour swimming in the crisp waters of Banyumala or just sit back with a hot local coffee overlooking the Munduk valleys? You can! We are just here to drive you safely, share local secrets, and give you a day you will never forget.
It is noticeably cooler up here than on the coast, usually around 20-25°C, and it can get quite misty or rainy in the afternoon. We highly recommend bringing a light jacket or sweater just in case!
Banyumala requires a 15-20 minute hike down a rustic jungle path with stairs, which can be slippery if wet. Munduk Waterfall has a much shorter and easier path from the parking area. A basic level of fitness is all you need.
Banyumala is perfect for swimming and has a fantastic natural pool! Munduk Waterfall is incredibly powerful and misty, so while you can get close and get wet, it is more for looking and photographing rather than deep swimming.
Wear comfortable walking shoes or sneakers for the botanical gardens and waterfall trails. Bring a swimsuit, a towel, a change of dry clothes, and a light jacket for the cooler highland air.
There are plenty of amazing hidden gems along the ridge of Bedugul and Munduk, ranging from local warungs serving hot, authentic food to scenic cafes with panoramic views of the twin lakes. Just let your driver know what you are craving!
